Naïm Abou-Jaoudé has steered his company through some difficult times. After becoming CEO in 2007, he successfully manoeuvred the firm through the financial crisis before, in 2014, being tasked with overseeing the rebranding of the company from Dexia Asset Management to Candriam Investors Group. For Abou-Jaoudé, however, overcoming challenges like these is just part of his job. By placing an emphasis on sustainability, he has renewed the firm’s focus on environmental, social and governance issues, ensuring that at least 20 percent of all company assets reside in socially responsible investments. For Abou-Jaoudé, growth and sustainability go hand in hand.
