French-Lebanese Naïm Abou-Jaoudé has dedicated his entire career to finance, specialising in asset management. In 1989, he gained a master’s degree in economics and finance, after which he held management positions at various asset management firms. He has been CEO of Candriam for nearly 12 years, having guided the company – then called Dexia Asset Management – through the 2008 financial crisis. In addition to his strategic nous, Abou-Jaoudé has a strong interest in sustainability and has pioneered socially responsible investment portfolios at Candriam. He believes that the finance sector has a responsibility to promote the interests of future generations.
