With a background in programming and two degrees from the University of California, Vincent Steckler has long been a respected figure in the cybersecurity sector. After working for two decades in software development, systems analysis and engineering, Steckler joined software company Symantec in 2000. Here, he worked his way up to the role of senior vice president of worldwide consumer sales. In 2009, he became CEO of Avast, which debuted on the London Stock Exchange in the largest European tech IPO of 2018. His leadership skills have proven invaluable to the cybersecurity software company: today, Avast is one of the world’s most trusted online security providers, with more than 435 million customers.
