So passionate was Richard Thorpe about creating the perfect e-bike that in 2002, he left a dream job with McLaren to dedicate all of his time to that purpose. With his experience in designing lightweight racing car components and enthusiasm for innovative engineering excellence, Thorpe believed that an e-bike should be elegant, desirable, a joy to live with and, most importantly, fun to ride. The pioneering G1 model entered the market in 2009, becoming the first injection-moulded magnesium alloy bicycle in history and establishing the core Gocycle values of stylish design, desirability and pioneering spirit that have driven the company’s success to this day.
